Police Shoot Stabbing Suspect In S.E. Washington

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WUSA) - DC Police officers shot and killed man in Southeast Washington Monday afternoon. The incident happened around 1:30 p.m. on Trenton Place S.E.

Police were responding to a 9-1-1 call that had been made a little earlier. All the details were not available immediately after the incident, but the 9-1-1 call was made by a man who claimed to have killed his sister and "cut her up". Officers responded and at the intersecton of Stanton Road and Trenton Place Southeast, they found a man armed with knives, and say he refused orders by the officers to drop the weapons.

The man was shot in the chest, and DC Fire department spokesman Pete Piringer told 9 News Now that the man was transported to Medstar with CPR being performed in progress.

Traci Hughes the spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Police Department, confimed that the man was later pronounced dead. Hughes identified the man as Robert McFaulin, 50. Hughes told 9 News Now that that the man's sister was subsequently located and was not harmed.
