CORDOVA, Md. (WUSA) - Some early Labor Day travelers heading towards the Eastern Shore may hit a snag on their way to fun and sun this Friday morning.

Maryland State Police are on the scene of an accident involving two tractor-trailers that has both directions of Route 50 shut down just south of Wye Mills and Route 404 at Skipton Landing Road.

Police officials say the incident occurred around 2:00 Friday morning.

No one was injured in the accident.

Officials say the roadway will remain closed while crews clean-up a mess made by cargo that has spilled on the roadway, as well as the wrecked tractor trailers. Tow trucks are on the scene.

Right now officials have no estimate as to how long it may take to clear the accident and get traffic moving.

Eastbound traffic is being detoured onto Route 404. Motorists traveling westbound are being directed to Route 662.
