WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- A barricade situation on Kansas Ave., Northwest, has ended with no injuries and the arrest of a woman.

The incident, which began Thursday at about 9:20 a.m. in the 5200 block of Kansas Ave., ended at 3:18 p.m., according to Metro Police spokesman Officer Kenny Bryson.

U.S. Marshals tried to serve an eviction notice at the residence this morning and were met by a woman who displayed a weapon, U.S. Marshals Service spokesperson Nikki Credic said. The woman proceeded to barricade herself in the house, which was also being occupied by other people, according to Credic.

The identity and age of the woman were not released. She was turned over to U.S. Marshals, who on Thursday afternoon were still determining any charges she will face.

The care of the other individuals in the house was still being decided Thursday, Credic said.

Kansas Avenue and the cross street of Hamilton Street were closed, but were expected to quickly reopen.
