ROCKVILLE, Md. (WUSA) -- Rockville High School students taking advanced placement tests Monday were sequestered at the Mark Twain School.
That's because their school is closed indefinitely while officials try to determine if a special needs student has the H1N1 virus.
"It's a nationwide test scheduled for May 4th," says Rockville High School student, Genevive David. "If they had canceled it all my work last semester would have been for nothing."
Her mother supports the decision to close the school and rearrange those important tests.
"I don't want my daughter to get sick, and we don't know if it's the swine flu," Elvira David says.
Sophomore Greg Cordelli is worried about upcoming finals.
"We aren't going to know half the stuff on the test if we're out of class too long," he says.
If the school stays closed too long, it could cut into summer vacation plans.
"Like going to the beach," says Mike Swann. "It's going to have to be postponed because of all the days we lost during the swine break."
State School Superintendent Nancy Grasmick has not made a decision about how students will make up any time lost due to the flu closures.
