WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Washington Nationals have activated shortstop Cristian Guzman from the 15-day disabled list and optioned infielder Alberto Gonzalez to Triple-A Syracuse.
The moves were made before Washington played at the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday.
Guzman missed 12 games with a strained left hamstring. He was leading the NL with a .515 batting average and 17 hits when he was hurt.
Gonzalez made six errors while starting 11 games during Guzman's absence.
