BETHESDA, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County Police have linked the killing of a Bethesda woman with two home invasions, and a reward is being offered for information in the woman's death.
Police Chief Thomas Manger says detectives linked the September 4 homicide of Mary Havenstein with two of a series of home invasion robberies that occurred in Montgomery County since September 2007. Another home invasion occurred in Washington in January. Police continue to investigate all the robberies as if they are related.
The body of 63-year-old Havenstein was found bound inside her home.
The Victims' Rights Foundation has announced a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and/or indictment of the person responsible for Havenstein's death.
