ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. (WUSA9) -- A suspect has been arrested and charged in connection to an armed hostage hoax incident, police said.
George Walter Carlisle II, 43 called Police on Tuesday pretending to be a professor at Anne Arundel Community College and said there was an armed female student who had up to eight students hostage at gunpoint. When Police arrived at the scene, they quickly determined the identity of the suspect in the case with the help of the community college staff. He was a former student at the community college, police said.
Carlisle was arrested on Wednesday around the East Columbia Library om Columbia Md., an area he frequently visited. He has been charged with 'Telephone Misuse, Disrupting School Operations and Providing a False Statement to Law Enforcement', police said.
