(WUSA9) -- Montgomery County Police have released new details about a stabbing on Cobblestone Drive earlier this week.
Police say a 17-year-old victim had been playing basketball in Stonegate Park on Monday at approximately 6:40 p.m. They say he was approached by two males -- with a 5 or 6-year-old girl in tow -- who tried to talk to him. The teen became uncomfortable and started to leave the park, but the two males followed him to Cobblestone Drive.
There, he was confronted by another male walking toward him, say police. That male then stabbed the teen three times with a folding knife, according to police, before all suspect fled back to the park.
The three males then retrieved the girl who was still in the park before fleeing in a vehicle, say police.
The stabbing suspect is described as a black male, approximately 18 years old, 5'10" tall, and approximately 225 pounds. Police say he had black hair styled in an Afro and was wearing a white t-shirt and black shorts with white stripes down the sides.
