WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) - Toyota will have to fork over a big check to 29 states and the American Samoa.
The Japanese automaker will pay $29 million as part of a settlement for its safety recalls, and includes more than $739,000 for Virginia.
The lawsuit claims that car company concealed defects in its vehicles that led to unintended acceleration.
Toyota also promises to deal more quickly with customer complaints.
