GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WUSA) -- On Saturday, a man posing as a maintenance worker robbed a couple from West Virginia at a Glen Burnie, Md. hotel, say police. He was later arrested while hiding under a truck in the parking lot of another hotel.

According to Anne Arundel County police, a 70-year-old man and woman were robbed while staying at the Hampton Inn in the 6600 block of Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie on Saturday afternoon. Police say a man knocked on the couple's hotel room door, and said he was with maintenance.  When they opened the door, the man entered the hotel room pointing a handgun at them. He demanded money and property, and after a short struggle between the two men, the couple gave him cash.

A hotel employee saw him run across Ritchie Highway towards the Days Inn in the 6600 block of Ritchie Highway.

Detectives search the area and found 26-year-old Rodney Sylvester Wiggins of Baltimore in the rear parking lot of the Days Inn hiding underneath a box truck.

He was taken into custody and identified as the robber. Police say they found him with the money and a gun was also confiscated.
