GAITHERSBURG, Md. (WUSA) - Montgomery County Police say a Gaithersburg man is charged with discharging a firearm in an urban area and reckless endangerment after admitting to firing an AK-47 into the air in his backyard.

Thirty-eight-year-old Kenneth Wayne Barney Jr. is being held on $20,000 bond. He is scheduled for a bond review Monday afternoon in Rockville.
