WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- 9News Now's Bruce Johnson reports a source, who had been among D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray's top advisors, says in his opinion, Gray won't run again regardless of the outcome of a federal probe.
Mayor Gray says he has not made a decision about running next term, and he says no decision has been made.
A former campaign aide to Gray, Howard Brooks, pleaded guilty in May to lying to the FBI about payments he and others made to another mayoral candidate during the 2010 campaign.
Thomas Gore, a former deputy treasurer for the Vincent Gray campaign, pleaded guilty to felony charges for steering money to fringe mayoral candidate Suliaman Brown, then trying to cover it up.
