WASHINGTON, D.C. (WUSA)- A sunshiny Saturday brought out dedicated humans and their loyal dogs for the second annual DC Walk for the Animals and the Pet-a-Palooza.
Hosted by the Washington Humane Society in support of rescued animals, the walk and a community festival that followed later raised funds to help animals in need. WHS programs helped by the day's generosity include pet adoption and animal rescue, as well as training and fostering--all the supportive nurturing needed for the welfare of our four-legged (and winged and finned!) friends.
The festival's local vendors, games and contests for pets and their people rounded out the day. For all those who attended and participated, the day's bright spirits and energetic vibe--along with just plain fun-- reminded them to invite even more friends to take part next time.
