WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- D.C. police say a man was lying in the street before he was struck by a Metro bus at 14th and Parkwood Place NW. A Metro spokesperson says drugs are suspected to be a factor in the case.
The man was struck by the bus shortly after 11 p.m. on Thursday. We are told that a taxicab was traveling in front of the bus and swerved to miss the man lying in the street, but the bus could not get out of the way quickly enough.
A police officer saw the incident, says a Metro spokesperson.
The bus driver has not been charged.
A police spokesperson said the man was taken to Medstar and pronounced dead at the hospital around 3:20 a.m.
