LEONARDTOWN, Md. (WUSA) -- A Hollywood, Md. man is charged with malicious destruction of property after reportedly placing stickers on road signs along Hollywood Road in Leonardtown.
According to St. Mary's County authorities, a lookout was issued for a male carrying a backpack who was putting stickers on the signs. An officer found a man matching the description but the man then fled on foot.
Twenty-year-old William Harvey Butcher III was apprehended a short time later.
Authorities say that they discovered the stickers were actually U.S. Postal Service priority mail stickers with the word "Tumone" written on it in different colors.
