WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- D.C. police say they arrested a man for allegedly robbing a woman and sexually assaulting her in Southeast Washington earlier this month.
According to police, 21-year-old June A. Branch was arrested Monday morning for the robbery and sexual assault of a woman in the 1900 block of 18th St, SE in D.C. on July 12. Branch is accused of taking out a handgun and demanding money, then after the woman complied, sexually assaulting her. Police say after the assault Branch took the woman to a nearby ATM and forced her to take out cash.
Branch is charged with first degree sexual assault while armed and robbery while armed.
