COLTON'S POINT, Md. (WUSA) -- According to St. Mary's County Government officials, the National Weather Service confirmed a "weak tornado" along Windy Lane in Colton's Point on Sunday around 4:35 p.m.
Officials say the tornado started as a waterspout and then reached a maximum wind speed of 75 miles per hour.
Firefighters helped remove trees that fell due to the tornado.
Officials released the photos above showing some of the damage.
