(WUSA) -- The majority of Americans say their views about the economy and their own finances will play a role in who they vote for in the upcoming presidential election.

A Bankrate.com poll finds 59 percent of Americans say their own
personal financial situation is an important factor in deciding who they'll vote for in November.

Franklin Roosevelt was the last sitting president to win re-election with an unemployment rate which was more than 7.2 percent. The latest government figure puts the current unemployment rate at 8.2 percent.
