BALTIMORE (AP) - A storm caused more than $1 million in damage in Harford County, and officials are investigating whether a tornado did some of the damage there and elsewhere throughout the state.
Harford County government spokesman Robert Thomas Jr. says more than a dozen homes were damaged Friday evening. Thomas said two businesses were destroyed and several vehicles overturned.
The National Weather Service received a report of a possible tornado touching down at 7:19 p.m. Friday near the Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. Crews will be investigating other reports of funnel clouds. A spokesman said it would take several days to get confirmation of any tornadoes.
About 1,100 Baltimore Gas and Electric customers were without power Saturday evening as a result of storm damage.
