RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The Virginia Supreme Court is allowing a lawsuit over congressional redistricting to proceed.
Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli says the court declined Tuesday to grant an immediate appeal of a circuit court ruling that refused to dismiss the lawsuit.
The Supreme Court said the circuit court's ruling wasn't definitive enough permit to an immediate review.
The lawsuit challenges the General Assembly's authority to withdraw its congressional districts a year late. Six plaintiffs filed the lawsuit last year in Richmond Circuit Court.
