WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- The 2012 Washington Auto Show opens Friday at the DC Convention Center.
In a recent study by Consumer Reports, 65 percent of new car buyers say safety is among their top three priorities.
Mike Hernandez, an engineer with Toyota, gave us a little safety lesson live from the Convention Center on Friday morning.

The Auto Show is open every day through Sunday, February 5.
Tickets for adults are $12. Kids aged 6 to 12 can get in for $5. Seniors or military personnel get $2 off their tickets.
On Tuesday, all active duty and retired military get in free with a valid ID. Thursday it's 50 percent off with any valid student ID.
