LANGLEY PARK, Md. (WUSA) -- A woman who used three children to rob an elderly woman, according to police, has been arrested in New York City.
Linda McCorkle, 48, of Chillum, Md. was arrested Thursday by U.S. Marshals in NYC. McCorkle was wanted for the armed robbery of an elderly woman in Langley Park, police said.
The incident happened at around 12:30 p.m. on January 12, when McCorckle, accompanied by three children, approached the victim and asked for help cashing a check, police said.

When the victim offered to help, McCorckle got in the victim's car and drove with her about a mile down the road to a Langley Park Bank of America on the 7900 block of New Hampshire Avenue, police said.
McCorckle then threatened the victim, by saying she had a gun, and she would shoot her unless she withdrew thousands of dollars at the bank, police said.
The scared victim then entered the bank with McCorckle, while she supervised the victim withdrawing the cash, then took the money and got away.
"Investigators were able to develop McCorkle as the suspect through a Crime Solvers anonymous tip and surveillance video provided by the Bank of America. A warrant was obtained for McCorkle for armed robbery and second degree assault," police said.
