GAINESVILLE, Va. -- U.S. 29 in Gainesville is closed in both directions after a train struck a truck near U.S. 55, according to Prince William County police.
The collision happened about 6:40 p.m. near the intersection of U.S. 55.
There were no injuries, said Prince William County police spokesman Jonathan Perok. At this point, traffic is stopped in both directions on U.S. 29, and ramps to and from Interstate 66 are also closed.
We will update this story as soon as we get word on when Rte. 29 is expected to reopen.
A similar accident took place on U.S. 29 on Dec. 9, when a train hit a truck in the same place on U.S. 29, creating traffic tie-ups in the area.
