Traffic Collision Injures Volunteer Fire Chief In Lanham

LANHAM, Md. (WUSA) -- A two-vehicle collision at Cipriano Road and Brae Brooke Drive in Lanham has left a woman and a volunteer fire chief injured, according to the Prince George's Fire Department.

At 8 p.m. Wednesday, a fire department command officer was responding to a house fire when he was involved in a collision with a civilian vehicle. The driver, an adult female, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment. The volunteer chief was also taken to an area hospital for injury evaluation and post-crash screening.

The crash is under investigation by the county's police department. The house fire, a malfunctioning chimney, was handled by first arriving units
