The holidays can be hard for those with loved ones suffering from breast cancer.  Here are some gift ideas to make the season a little brighter.

(WUSA) -- This month's buddy check has a special holiday twist. Two Maryland area residents have created some pink holiday gift ideas to help make the season a little more merry and bright for those fighting breast cancer and their families.

Cancer is hard enough for adults to comprehend. So you can imagine how difficult it is for a child to understand what's happening to mommy or daddy. That's exactly why Cynethea Cunningham created this one doll, with two faces. She calls her Tuti Tender Heart.

One side Tuti is smiling, the other side she's sad. Those back and forth emotions are what Cynethea shared with her sister who died of breast cancer at age 39.

"When the children see these dolls, if they're drawn to the happy side, they're having a good day. Maybe you need them to open up if you see they are drawn to the sad side," Cynethea tells us.

Cynethea donates twenty percent of the proceeds from the sales of Tuti Tender Heart Dolls to "All Shades of Pink", a non profit that makes comfort blankets for cancer patients.

Besides dolls and other presents under the tree, Americans will mail out some 2-billion Christmas cards this year. If a breast cancer survivor is on your list, you may want to check out one of Scott Clarke's greeting cards.

One card reads, some boobs are perky, some are big, some are tiny, some sag to the floor, but all boobs are precious, so lets find a cure.

Yes, they're funny, even a little irreverent. But they do put a smile on your face and Scott feels that's the best gift you can give to a survivor anytime of the year, but especially now.

"It is not poking fun at the disease, but it is more making light at the down side," Scott says.

There are 13-breast cancer themed holiday cards, including Hanukkah, in his line. He is getting orders from women all across the country who love what he has to say.

Scott tells us, "They need to smile and they need to laugh. They don't want to be depressed they don't want to be down."
