Woman sexually assaulted during robbery at car

STERLING, Va. (WUSA9) -- Loudoun County Sheriff's Office authorities are looking for a man who opened a woman's car door in order to rob her and then sexually assaulted the victim.

The crime happened on May 31 at 5 a.m. in the 21000 block of Stanford Sq. in Sterling, say authorities. Deputies were notified about the incident after the victim went to the hospital for treatment.

According to authorities, a 52-year-old woman reported that she was going to a friend's house when a man knocked on the window of her vehicle in the 21000 block of Stanford Square. The man, who had a gun, then opened her car door and demanded money. Police say he ordered her out of her car and told her to take off her pants. During the robber, the suspect sexually assaulted her.

Police tell us that the man fled after hearing the woman's friend approaching the car.

The man was described as a Black male, approximately 6 feet tall, and in his late twenties. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with the hood up to help conceal his face, say police.
