Cross-Dressing Teen Sent Home

HOUSTON, Tx. (WUSA) -- A cross-dressing teen is crying foul saying his school is discriminating against him.

"I deserve to be sitting in the classroom like any other student," said O'Rhonde Chapman.

He was sent home for apparently not meeting the school's dress code. The 17-year-old Texas High School senior went to school wearing a long wig and stiletto heels.

When asked to take them off, he refused, so the principal sent him home.

Now, Chapman says he will not go back to class unless his hair can go with him.

"I would like to be able to wear what I have on... with my hair and everything and still be treated the same and have an equal education as well as others do. I ought not (be) segregated or sent home because of what I have on," said Chapman.

The school administration would not comment, but they say their action has nothing to do with discrimination.

They say their dress code is clear: boy's hair may not extend below the bottom of a shirt collar. It also states wigs are not acceptable.
