ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (KUSA) -- The owner of a Thai restaurant in Englewood claims to have a cure for the common flu.
Noy Farrell has been busy in the backroom at Taste of Thailand, creating what she calls "The Flu Shot" soup.
"It's a Thai home remedy," she explained.
The recipe has been in Farrell's family for generations. It includes a number of ingredients, like lemon grass, pepper, onions, garlic, chicken - and several others. (Farrell wouldn't give away the complete recipe.)
According to Farrell, the ingredients are so powerful they help clear up some of the most common symptoms associated with the flu.
"It clears your system," she said. "Makes your system battle the flu."
Farrell's restaurant is situated across the street from Swedish Medical Center. Every day, dozens of doctors go there for lunch. Most of them have the Flu Shot Soup, Farrell said.
"I think it makes you feel good!" Dr. Emmett McGuire from Swedish said. "It's a little spicy, which is good, and it helps in this kind of weather."
Farrell claims the soup starts working immediately, but she says it can take a few days to actually clear your system of the virus.
