WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- The show "Walking with Dinosaurs" opens Wednesday night at the Verizon Center. It's based on a BBC production and features life-sized replicas of the pre-historic creatures.
It takes three people to operate one large dinosaur. The sounds they make are controlled by a keyboard. An actor playing a palaeontologist narrates the story of how dinosaurs roamed the Earth.
Puppeteers control the dinosaur's movement through animatronic technology.
The show opens tonight at the Verizon Center and runs through this Sunday. Tickets range in price from about $20 to $65.
