(WUSA) -- Four billion dollars for comic books? Not just a few comic books but the entire Marvel label!
X-men, Spider Man and the Incredible Hulk, just to name a few, are all being acquired by Walt Disney
Wolverine is the guy they turned into one of the most mysterious and deadly characters of the X-men lineup.
Now his comic book character belongs to a company with a reputation for having a softer gentler side.
Inside Union Station's Fantom comics, Manager Patrick Jodrie-Black thinks the deal makes sense.
"I think they made an excellent choice," says Jodrie-Black. "They get in on the comics game a little better than they have in the past."
But some readers wonder, can Disney really reconcile characters like Mickey Mouse with the dark side of Wolverine.
Matt Clark buys comic books for his little boy.
"I've got a four year old son so I wouldn't mind some more cuddly comics," says Clark. "On the other hand, I have a feeling Disney probably is aware that they have to keep the dark side alive."
Jodrie-Black agrees, "I don't think they will combine intellectual property or even put their name on Marvel except maybe in the back."
To put the cost of this comic book deal in perspective, four billion dollars could also buy twenty, F-22 fighter aircraft.
