OCEAN CITY (delmarvanow.com) - To promote summertime deals on $3 hoagies, employees at the Wawa store in West Ocean City are spending the morning building a quarter-mile-long hoagie.

The Hoagiefest event, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p..m., will let customers nosh on sections of the huge sub, according to a press release.

The event also features a karaoke contest, a charity hoagie-building contest among firefighters and police officers, and hoagies built to send to food banks and homeless shelters.

The release said employees began putting together the larger-than-life sub at 5:30 a.m.
