LEIPZIG, GERMANY (WUSA) -- The message for men from a new study is find a young one and you may live longer. For women, the news isn't so hot.
The Max Planck Institute studied deaths in Denmark for 15-years. According to an article at Telegraph.co.uk, a man can cut his chances of a premature death by 20 percent if he marries a woman 15 to 17 years younger. The figure is 11 percent if the man is seven to nine years older than his bride.
The study also found men marrying older women are more likely to die early.
Things don't quite work out that well for women when there is a significant age difference in either direction.
There was a 20 percent increase in the chances of dying early for women when there was a seven to nine year gap. It rises to 30 percent for 15 to 17 years.
