FAIRFAX, Va. (WUSA9) -- Fairfax police say a man seen sitting on a curb was later found with two long knives. Now, he faces two counts of possessing a concealed weapon.
According to police, an officer went to check on a man in the 9500 block of Fairfax Boulevard on Tuesday at 8:38 p.m. The officer saw the man sitting on a curb, and then saw what appeared to be two long knives "concealed on his person," say police.
Police say the knives were determined to be a bowie knife and a machete, which are illegal to conceal under Virginia law.
The man, identified as 67-year-old Alfred Alfredson, was taken into custody. He was then charged with two misdemeanor counts of possessing a concealed weapon, say police.
Police say Alfredson's bond was set at $1,500.
