RESTON, Va. (WUSA9) -- A man known as a trainer for basketball players is now charged with sexual assault and solicitation of child pornography, say Loudoun County Sheriff's Office authorities.
Thirty-nine-year-old Marlow Mikassa Afshartous, also known as Marlow Talley, of Reston, was arrested on Saturday.
Authorities say that detectives started investigating allegations that a basketball instructor at Calude Moore Recreation Center, Georgetown Day School and the now-closed Hoop Magic in Chantilly and Fairfax Stars, had a sexual relationship with a female athlete younger than 13 years old.
Loudoun County authorities say they worked with the Fairfax County Police Department to arrest Afshartous. He is being held without bond at the county detention center.
Authorities say additional charges are possible and they are trying to determine if there are additional victims. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective J.S. Cichocki at 703-777-0475.
Neighbors say Marlow Talley is married with two young girls. Carolyn Thompson who lives nearby was shocked at the news. "He's been a fantastic neighbor. It's very hard to believe. I pray that it's not true," she said.
