WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Officer Peter Laboy visited fellow officers in a Superman helmet and T-shirt at police headquarters today.
Laboy returned home after spending nearly two months in a hospital. He has been recovering from a gun shot wound to the head which he sustained in a shooting on February 27 at a traffic stop in Alexandria, Va.
According to the police website, "Family and friends are overjoyed to have Officer Laboy home. His homecoming represents a step forward in Officer Laboy's rehabilitation, which is expected to take up to a year."
On March 10, a fundraiser hosted by Virtue Feed and Grain in Old Town and the Alexandria Police Association drew over 3,000 people and the event raised over $75,000 for the Laboy family.
