FAIRFAX, Va. (WUSA) -- It looks like a pizza delivery man caught a would-be robber by surprise. 

Fairfax City police say Thursday at approximately 6:09 p.m. a pizza delivery driver had dropped off pizza in the 3900 block of Lyndhurst Drive when he was confronted in the parking lot by a man who demanded money. 

The deliveryman then punched his attacker, who fell to the ground and dropped a knife. The deliveryman was not injured and fled with all of his belongings.

Police continue to investigate the case.
