BEALETON, Va. (WUSA) -- The Fauquier County Sheriff's Office have released a new composite sketch of the man sought in an attempted abduction of a 13-year-old girl in the Meadow Brooke Subdivision in Bealeton, Va.
At approximately 6:45 a.m. Wednesday, the girl was walking north in the 10900 block of Blake Lane to a school bus stop, say authorities, and walked past a white van parked on the curb. Inside the van were two males. The girl then heard someone walking behind her on foot. She was suddenly grabbed from behind and a man tried to force her into the van, but she managed to break free. The girl then ran towards the bus stop and then ran home.
The van has only been described as a white van with a cargo style side door on the passenger side. Police say the van was seen running a stop sign at the intersection of Route 28 and Oak Shade Road at 6:50 a.m. It was apparently speeding in front of a dark gray Jeep Cherokee, and it made several vehicles on the southbound side of Rt. 28 brake abruptly, say police.
One suspect is described as between 5'7" and 5'8" tall and slender, who is possibly white or Hispanic and in his 30's. Authorities sent out an updated composite sketch of the suspect on Friday.
