Virginia State Police Investigate Stafford County Car Fatality

STAFFORD CO., Va. (WUSA) - Virginia State Police are investigating a car crash that resulted in the death of a passenger, according to the police.

The driver, Aaron T. Frazier, 40, was transported to Mary Washington Hospital. Police reported he suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The passenger and car owner, Gregory A. Hurst, 70, was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries caused by the crash.

Speed was reported to be a factor, however, it is unknown if alcohol was involved.

The crash took place just before noon on July 16, 2012. The driver of the 2002 Chevy Corvette was traveling eastbound on Manning Drive before he veered off the road and struck a ditch. The car came to a stop upside down in the middle of the road.

No charges have been filed. Police are continuing the investigation.
