(WUSA) -- Authorities say that shortly after 11 a.m. on Friday for unknown reasons a car went off the roadway in the area of New Hampshire Avenue and Brighton Dam Road and went into a wooded area.
An adult female suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries. She was removed from the vehicle and transported to a trauma center.
The accident is being investigated by police.
