MANASSAS, Va. (WUSA) -- Manassas City Police say a mother and her son are in trouble after a hit and run incident on May 22.
According to police, Manassas City Police Officers were in the area of Centreville Road and Carriage Lane to investigate a hit and run and were told that a Ford Mustang struck a Ford Fiesta but didn't stop. The front passenger side of a Ford Fiesta was damaged. Witnesses told police that the driver was a heavy set white male. At the scene, police say Brandon Cook told them that his mother, Connie Faye Jenkins, was driving the Mustand and was waiting for them further down Centreville Road.
During the investigation, police say they discovered that Brandon Cook was actually driving the vehicle and that Jenkins was covering up for him due to his driving record.
Police say Jenkins was cited for obstruction of justice.
Cook was arrested and charged with driving while revoked and obstruction of justice. He was held at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center on a $10,000 bond.
Mother and son both have a court date set for June 26.
