Diogo Miller Facchini,of Lorton, Va., charged with fatal hit and run in Ocean City
OCEAN CITY, Md. (WUSA) -- A 22-year-old man was killed by a drunk driver in Ocean City, early Monday morning, police said.
Diogo Miller Facchini, 30, of Lorton, was speeding, in the bus lane at 54 Street and Coastal Highway, when he hit the 22-year-old from Cooksville, Md., Mathew Jude Cheswick, police said.

Facchini did not stop to check on Cheswick, he just kept driving, police said.
Witnesses followed Facchini and called police until the authorities caught up with him and arrested him.
"Facchini, who was not injured during the collision, was arrested and charged with homicide by a motor vehicle while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a fatal collision, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while impaired by alcohol and a number of other traffic related charges. At the time of this release, Facchini was awaiting an initial appearance in front of an Ocean City District Court Commissioner," police said.
Cheswick was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
