Brian Kutney Of Palmyra, Va. Accused Of Engaging In Sexual Acts With 14-Year-Old Girl

DUMFRIES, Va. (WUSA) -- Prince William Police say a Palmyra, Va. man is charged with carnal knowledge, taking indecent liberties with a
minor and using a communication device to facilitate offenses with children after allegedly meeting a 14-year-old girl in a chat room and then traveling to engage in sexual acts with her.

Police say they began their investigation on Feb. 6 into a sexual assault that was reported to have happened on Feb. 1 and Feb. 3 in Prince William County. A 14-year-old girl reported that she had met a man, later identified as Brian Kutney of Palmyra, through a teen chat room in January 2012. During the online conversations, he allegedly arranged to meet up with the victim two times.

According to police, Kutney first came to Prince William on Feb. 1 and met the victim in the parking lot of Forest Park High School in Woodbridge. The second encounter took place on Feb. 3 in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn in Dumfries. Police say in both encounters Kutney and the victim engaged in sexual acts.

When Kutney traveled back to Prince William on Tuesday, Feb. 7 to allegedly meet up with the victim at Forest Park High School for a third encounter, detectives took him into custody. 

Kutney, who is 36 years old,  was arrested and charged with 2 counts of carnal knowledge, 2 counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor and 2 counts of using a communication device to facilitate offenses with children

Kutney's court date is set for March 27. He is being held without bond.
