Student entrepreneur ideas wanted at UMD

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (WUSA9) -- You have this great idea but you need some financial help. If you're a college student, this may be the chance you've been waiting for.

Bianca Nicole, with Global Voice Hall, says it has teamed up with RECESS and going to different campuses looking for some of these great ideas.

RECESS is Shark Tank" investor and billionaire Mark Cuban's music and ideas festival visiting colleges across the country. It will be at the University of Maryland on Wednesday with an interactive networking event from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Kim Plaza. The speaker series and pitch competition will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Kim Engineering Lecture Hall.

Global Voice Hall will feature student entrepreneurs through a Campus Innovator Showcase. After the showcase, student entrepreneurs will receive a video profile that they can use after the event.

RECESS is only visiting seven schools. Winning pitches for each school receive an all-expense paid trip to Las Vegas to participate in a national pitch competition with celebrity investors and mentors. Students can submit pitches for the national competition online until April 12.
