Healthcare protesters arrested, dragged out of Senate buildings

A group of protesters chanted "Health Care is a right" and held signs that read "Don't take our health care" and "Trumpcare Equals Death."

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) - Dozens of protesters angry about the Senate’s healthcare bill were arrested Wednesday, Capitol Police said.

The demonstrators camped outside—and inside—the offices of several lawmakers inside the Senate Office buildings.

Capitol Police warned them to “cease and desist with their unlawful demonstration activities.” Police didn’t elaborate on what those activities were.

The protesters who refused to stop were arrested. In all, 40 people were taken into custody and charged with “crowding, obstructing, or incommoding.”
