Donald Trump campaigning in DC Friday

Less than 60 days to the general election...the 2016 Presidential candidates are sharpening their verbal attacks.

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) - Donald Trump is making a stop in The District on Friday.

He is hoping to rally his party's core base, conservative and religious voters.

Trump speak at the 2016 Values Voter Summit. The conference will be held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Northwest D.C.

Thousands are expected to attend.

According to Trump’s website, the purpose of the conference is to "inform and mobilize Americans to protect religious liberty, champion traditional values, secure America and limit government."

Vice Presidential Candidate Mike Pence will speak to the group on Saturday.
