Michael Ricciardi grew up in New Jersey.  Ricciardi is studying Communications, Law, Economics and Government.  He enjoys writing, reading, playing video games in the company of friends.

Hotelling’s Median Voter Theorem poses two assumptions; the inevitability of a two party system and that rational actors fight for the center.  

The 2016 race has presented a vulnerability in this dynamic with the selection of two highly unpopular candidates.  

Like the transition to the Second Party System, a new party paradigm may finally stray from Hotelling’s model.
