Police: attempted burglaries at 6 homes in subdivision

LEESBURG, Va. (WUSA9) -- Leesburg police are investigating a series of attempted home burglaries in the same subdivision on Tuesday morning.

Police officials say someone entered attached screened-in porches of at least 6 homes in the Prospect Hills Subdivision in Southwest Leesburg sometime in the overnight hours. According to police, the suspect or suspects cut through the screens or broke locks on screen doors to get into the porches in the 100 block of Prospect Drive SW. Police say the suspects did not get into any of the houses and nothing has been reported missing at this time.
