Police: 1 in custody after Md. shooting, police chase

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Multiple police agencies were involved in the pursuit of a car they say was involved in a shooting.

A Prince George's County police spokesperson says that the shooting occurred in the 4500 block of Silver Hill Road at approximately 4:45 a.m. Monday. When officers arrived at the scene, a car fled the area. Police then pursued the vehicle, says the spokesperson.

D.C. police confirmed that Prince George's County Police and U.S. Park Police were involved in the chase of a black Cadillac that was involved in a shooting in Prince George's County.

The car was stopped on northbound I-295 at Benning Road. Two right lanes of northbound I-295 were blocked.

One person is in custody, says a Prince George's County police spokesperson.

We are told there are no injuries.
