
PALMER PARK, Md. -(WUSA)- A second arrest has been made in the fatal stabbing of a Riverdale, Maryland high school student last week.
Prince Georges county police reported that the second suspect in the case, 18 year old Rony Antonio Izaguirre Henrique, was taken into custody at about 1:45pm Thursday in Annandale, Virginia. Police had already named him as a suspect in the stabbing death of 15-year-old Guillermo Enrique Medina outside Parkdale High School last Wednesday afternoon.
Prince Georges county detectives apprehended Henrique with the help of the U.S. Marshalls service, Fairfax county police, Fauquier county sheriffs and Prince William county police.
Rony Henrique, is the younger brother of the suspect charged in the same case last week, faces first degree murder charges in the case and is being detained in northern Virginia until he can be extradited to Prince Georges county.
His brother, eighteen-year-old Walter D. Izaguirre Henrique was taken into custody by Prince Georges Police the evening of the attack. Walter D. Izaguirre Henrique is being held at the Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro with no bond.
On Wednesday, April 2, at about 2:45 p.m., Prince Georges county police officers responded to the 6000 block of Good Luck Road for the report of a stabbing. When officers arrived on scene they found 15-year-old Guillermo Enrique Medina with a stab wound to the chest.
The victim was transported to Prince Georges Hospital Center where he died a short time later. Police say Medina was walking on the sidewalk along Good Luck Road shortly after school let out when a tan vehicle pulled up next to him. A suspect got out of the vehicle, confronted the victim and stabbed him before fleeing the scene.
Police had said there was reason to believe that the crime was gang related. A close friend claims the victim, a Parkdale High School student, had recently left a gang.
