WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) - Former Vice President Al Gore made a surprise announcement Friday morning on the CBS Early Show. An additional Live Earth Concert will take place Saturday on the National Mall, at Fourth Street and Independence Avenue.
The DC concert was added when the Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian agreed to host it. The concert will be the first of the North American Live Earth events, starting at 10am Saturday.
Vice President Gore says he will be there, and joining him will be country music stars Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, along with the group Blues Nation.
